JOINT POW/MIA ACCOUNTING COMMAND

Category: Military
Completed: 2015
Description: As the associate design and local architect RMA worked with prime architect Smith Group (Phoenix, Arizona). Specializing in laboratory facilities their expertise was essential to design a facility used to identify the remains of POW and MIA soldiers from past and current conflicts. RMA’s role included the design of various support spaces, the main entry trellis and water feature, as well as all exterior architectural styling.

The 3-story building houses 140,000 sf of laboratories, private offices, admin spaces, and technical libraries that support the 460 staff members in their archaeological investigative trips around the world. JPAC is the largest DoD forensic facility to identify the remains of POW and MIA soldiers from past and current conflicts.
