ENV Support Facilities at Honouliuli Wastewater Treatment Plant (Ewa Beach, Oahu, Hawaii)

Category: Commercial, Industrial
Completed: 2025

Description: Completed in 2025, the Honouliuli Wastewater Treatment Plant Administration and Support Complex consolidates administrative and operational functions for the City’s wastewater activities. Developed by RMA Architects and Hawaiian Dredging Construction Company, Inc. through a Design-Build approach, the campus includes a two-story Administration Building, water testing laboratory, maintenance shop, warehouse, vehicle wash, and covered laydown structures.

Sustainability is central to the project, with recycled water used for irrigation and toilet flushing, an extensive photovoltaic system designed to support net-zero energy goals, and stormwater retention and infiltration features throughout the site. The project also required close coordination among multiple City divisions to create a cohesive, secure, and efficient campus.

The completed complex provides a modern, integrated facility designed to improve operational efficiency, reduce long-term operating costs, and support the City’s wastewater operations.
