WEST HAWAII CIVIC CENTER

Category: Government
Completed: 2011
Description: West Hawaii Civic Center (WHCC) is a new, sustainable campus of buildings serving as the seat of county government in Kona, Hawaii.  It provides a centralized location for residents to receive services and to gather for community events.  The campus is designed to embrace the outdoors and expands activities within the buildings to the large landscaped courtyard and amphitheater.  WHCC is equipped with high-efficiency mechanical and electrical systems, natural daylighting, and a 250KW photovoltaic system and is currently a net-zero energy facility.
