Keauhou Place – Fall 2017 Design Develop Construct Journal

NEWS_2017.11.29_KPHawaii’s first major transit-oriented and mixed-use development, Keauhou Place, made its way into the Fall 2017 Design Develop Construct Journal (pages 21 – 26).  See link below:

Keauhou Place includes a 43-story tower with 388 condominiums and townhouses.  Keauhou means Transformation in the Hawaiian.  This transit-oriented development will serve as a beacon for change – promoting a car-free lifestyle by integrating with the future Honolulu Rail Transit system and by increasing the pool of affordable housing units within walking distance of the downtown urban core.

Keauhou is also the first and only development to integrate a planned rail transit station into the development as a part of the joint development agreement.

RMA led the design-assist contract with Hawaiian Dredging, Stanford Carr Development and Alakea Design Group.  Together, we were able to complete the project ahead of schedule and on budget due to a true team effort.

Brent Tokita and Ryan Yee led a site visit tour for RMA Architects Staff; they walked fellow staff through the condos, townhouses, and common areas and explained some of the construction challenges of the project.
