Be it conflict, climate change, poverty, or soaring production costs, these factors all contribute to food insecurity occurring around the world. According to the World Food Program, more than 345 million people around the world are facing food insecurity in 2023, which is more than double the amount from 2020. Advances in transportation have made us more connected than ever before and could be the ticket to worldwide change that we need.

“Unpacking Hunger” represents the positive effect travel can have to unite us on a global scale.

Although the scale of these issues could seem overwhelming, we can help by being conscious of the places we travel, respectful to the local culture, and of course spreading the word and supporting those who can help in our local international communities.
